After changes in the industry, a friend recommended teaching. She started her teaching career in Los Angeles County as an English Language Instructor. Due to family, she relocated to Sacramento and completed her credential in Adult Education.

She majored in Multicultural Education in her graduate work. She taught ESL at various sites in Sacramento before transitioning to teaching high school completion for adults.  Multiple districts merged to become Twin Rivers Unified School District. At their adult school, she worked with a small team that opened Highlands Community Charter School.  Recently, she transferred to CICA’s Independent Study Program at their Marconi Campus to teach basic education classes to adults.

Her personal interests include gardening, healthy food preparation, decorating, speed walking, hiking, and exploring new treatments in the preventive health field.

This is Shadow.
She was a tale of courage!
Some of my students exhibit that same type of courage -
a mother protecting her kittens,
and a willingness to overcome all odds.
