Sonja Cameron

Corporate Treasurer

Sonja Cameron has 33 years of experience in public schools, including 18 years in Center Unified School District and 15 years with charter schools. She is the Co-founder of Pacific Charter Institute (PCI) and a former Chief Operations Officer where she supervised a team of 125 certificated and classified staff.

Sonja served as the PCI board president for five years. Born and educated in Denmark, Sonja has a Bachelor’s degree in English, German, and French, with a focus on business. She began her career in education as a bilingual technician working with ESL students.

A Sacramento resident for 42 years - 16 in North Natomas - Sonja is a member of the Foothill/Highlands Rotary and a judge for the California VFW scholarship contest. She served on the Twin Rivers USD Budget Advisory Committee for six years.
